2011 Results
The 2nd annual M.O.M.C. youth derby was held on August 7th 2011 out of Metro
Beach shelter #1.
17 boats attended
this year, with a total of 38 youth fishing the derby.
It was a great day
to be on the water as there were 25 Muskie caught by our youth participant’s.

Summary:
We had a respectable outing, for the first year hosting this event. 12 boats
participated this year, and we look forward to at least double the number of
participants next year. Word has spread fast, and two charter boats have
donated their boats to next years event, already. A very cool gesture for some
lucky kids.
Fishing was a bit tough for most, and the weather was NOT very cooperative.
The brisk winds made for a lumpy and weedy day. However, some very nice fish
were caught, and everyone involved seemed to have a great time, especially the
kids. METRO proved to be a great venue, and the water park was a hit, which
should surprise no one.
Thanks to all those who participated this year, and the sponsors who donated
to the kids raffle prizes. A huge thanks goes out to Tod & Becky Stanton and
Mike Hurley (Lochness Lures) for organizing this outing. Last, thanks to Tim
DiMartino and Dave Rybicki for their help with the raffles and awards. |
